PSAT 8/9 and PSAT/NMSQT Information

The PSAT 8/9 is a practice for the PSAT/NMSQT and SAT. At RGC, the PSAT 8/9 is given to our 9th grade students. Students will be testing in three areas: Reading, Writing and Language, and Math. The PSAT 8/9 is a timed test and will take approximately 145 minutes or 2 hours/25 minutes. The PSAT/NMSQT will be given to 10th grade students and 11th grade students who did not take the PSAT/NMSQT in Fall 2020. NMSQT stands for National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Top scores on this assessment have the potential to qualify students for National Merit Scholarships as well as top scholarships at various universities and colleges. As with the SAT, students will be testing in the following areas for the PSAT/NMSQT: Reading, Writing and Language, and Math. The PSAT/NMSQT is 165 minutes or 2 hours/45 minutes.
