Important Update Regarding Student Devices & Wi-Fi For 2024-2025 School Year

Dear Cole Parents and Guardians,

I hope this message finds you well! As we prepare for the upcoming academic year, I wanted to share an important update regarding student devices.

Starting this 2024-2025 school year, personal laptops & student cell phones will no longer be allowed on our district wireless (Wi-Fi) network. This decision has been made to ensure compliance with Texas laws and prioritize the safety and security of both our students and our network.

Key Points:

Chromebooks for All: Each student will be provided with a district-issued Chromebook. These devices are specifically configured for educational purposes and come with necessary security measures. These devices will connect to our district network automatically.
Safety and Security: By using district-provided Chromebooks, we can better protect our students’ online experiences. Our network filters and monitoring systems will ensure a safe and secure learning environment.
Compliance: This change aligns with state regulations and best practices. It allows us to maintain a consistent and controlled digital environment across all classrooms.

Chromebooks will be distributed during the "Prep Days" and during the first week of school. Details regarding pickup locations and times will be communicated soon. Our Technology team will be available to assist with any technical issues or questions related to the Chromebooks. For more information on our one-to-one device program at Cole, head to this link on our district website for more information.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make this transition. If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

Thank you for your continued partnership in ensuring a successful and secure learning environment for our students. I hope you have a fantastic summer break!

Sincerely,

Torie Marquez
