About Me
Welcome to our Math Class! I am passionate about all things mathematics, so much so, that my own family says I am a bit nerdy. LOL. I find mathematics beautiful and I am always learning new things.
I am an Army Brat. My father served 26 years in the Army and served a tour in Viet Nam. I graduated from the United Stated Military Academy at West Point in 1992 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and commissioned as a 2LT in Aviation. I flew the UH-60 Blackhawk for 7 years and commanded 2 companies.
In 1999, I resigned my commission and started our family. We have three children. Elizabeth graduated Ithaca College in 2022 with a degree in Chemistry and commissioned as a 2LT in the Medical Service Corps. She is currently working on her Ph.D. in Bio-Chemistry at Cornell and hopes to finish in three years. Katherine is in Illinois working full time and planning her next steps academically. Sean is a third year Cadet at West Point studying Military History and minoring in Russian. He is currently spending a semester abroad in Japan. My husband of 31 years just started his 33rd year on Active Duty still loving what he does. We also have a 10 year old Border Collie mix, Benny.
This is my 9th year teaching and my 4th school district/state. I love sharing my passion for math with my students. I truly believe that everyone can do math! It is my hope that by the end of the year, more students understand the beauty and simplicity of mathematics, and have a greater appreciation for the topic.
