About Me

I am Robert Elizalde and I am the RTI/Accelerated Instruction/ ESL Coordinator at Robert G. Cole HS/MS. As a former HS/MS English teacher I typically work with RTI and HB4545 students who need additional support in that area. English has always been a love of mine, most likely because my mother was a high school English teacher, and I have a passion for the subject that I hope to instill in the kids I get a chance to work with. As a part of the Intervention Team, I understand that our job is directly linked to the FSHISD Vision.

Our vision is to promote a quality education, where every student is a learner, every learner is a graduate, and every graduate is a success.

It is my goal to promote this vision and help ensure that our students are successful.

In addition to my role as an interventionist and coordinator, I also coach at Cole. Previously, I was an assistant coach for the high school football and basketball teams. For the latter, I worked with a team of dedicated and determined coaches to establish a program centered on hard work, honesty, and respect. A program where our student athletes would strive to establish themselves as the most respectful, courteous, hardest working organization on campus and be viewed as "overachievers."  In this pursuit we were able to win a State Championship in 2021(pictured above) and more importantly instill in our athletes not only a passion for success but an understanding of what it takes to be successful. In that season I  was also lucky enough to be selected as the THSCA Assistant Coach of the Year, an award that is a reflection of the entire coaching staff and their dedication to shaping the hearts and minds of our athletes.

Although I enjoyed coaching at the high school level, I chose to take a step back with the birth of my son in 2023. I am now a middle school Cross Country, Tennis, and Track coach and in that position I intend to bring the same level of dedication and determination. As an athlete, (getting closer and closer to adding former here) I understand and appreciate the importance that athletics can have on the lives of young men and women. It provides an opportunity to embrace and overcome struggle, learn leadership qualities, understand the value of a team and cooperation, and so many more vital life lessons.  The Cole Athletics Vision:

Student-athletes will develop strong character and resilience through modeling
persistence and leadership.

I view it as a privilege to be able to do this work and a blessing to be able to do it with the wonderful staff and students at Robert G. Cole.
