About Me
A New Chapter in Educational Technology
Hello, I'm Robert Elizalde, and I'm excited to transition into my new role as the District K-12 One-to-One Coordinator for the Technology Department. Previously, I served as the RTI/Accelerated Instruction/ESL Coordinator and Debate teacher at Robert G. Cole High School/Middle School. As a former high school and middle school English teacher, I often worked with students requiring additional support, a role that deepened my understanding of diverse learning needs and effective interventions. My passion for teaching and learning, inherited from my mother a former teacher, has always driven my commitment to fostering growth in every student.
My previous work on the Intervention Team was deeply aligned with the FSHISD Vision: "To promote a quality education, where every student is a learner, every learner is a graduate, and every graduate is a success." This vision will continue to be a cornerstone of my efforts as I work to ensure every student has the technological resources and support needed to succeed.
From Coaching Courts to Digital Classrooms: Building Collaborative Success
Beyond the classroom, I've dedicated many years to coaching at Cole. While I enjoyed my time as an assistant coach for high school football and basketball, I made the decision to step back from coaching with the birth of my son in 2023.
My coaching philosophy, centered on hard work, honesty, and respect, led to significant achievements, including a State Championship in 2021 with the basketball team. I was also selected as the THSCA Assistant Coach of the Year which was a testament to the collective dedication of our coaching staff and our commitment to shaping well-rounded student-athletes. This experience, focused on building a program where student-athletes strived to be "overachievers" and demonstrated the highest levels of respect and dedication, has provided invaluable lessons in team-building, strategic planning, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
These experiences in both intervention and coaching have equipped me with a unique perspective on supporting individual growth within a larger system, implementing effective strategies, and fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders. I view my new role as a privilege and a blessing, and I am eager to apply these skills to ensure seamless technology integration and equitable access for all students and staff across the district.
I'm looking forward to collaborating with everyone in the Technology Department and across the district to achieve our shared goals.
