LTC Robert G. Cole Purple Heart Medal – Setting the Record Straight

On November 8, 2019 Robert G. Cole High School held its annual Veterans Day Observances during which a Purple Heart Medal thought to be that of the school’s namesake was donated to the school by Ms. Lisa Ludwig of Long Island, New York. Not long after the ceremony, the school became aware of information that began to cast the validity of the medal’s origins in doubt. While investigating these claims the school was contacted by Mr. Robert Bruce Cole, son of LTC Cole, who confirmed his possession of both the Purple Heart and Medal of Honor.

All FSHISD websites will get a new facelift this fall! Work is already underway to bring you a sleeker and more modern website that will be easier to navigate. We are also combining the Middle School and High School websites into one! With the new site, Cole parents will easily find information for all of Cole in one great place. As we prepare for the transition, you will start to see the addition of Middle School staff, clubs, and teams to the existing high school site. Cole Cross Country Shines at State!

Please congratulate both Boys' and Girls' Cross Country teams on an outstanding performance last Saturday at the UIL State Meet.  Both teams displayed heart and a fierce determination to be recognized as some of the top runners in the State.  All team members ran their personal best times, surpassing all expectations.

Come to the October 25th Tailgate vs Randolph Ro-Hawks!

October 25th is our Senior Night Football game against our rivals- the Randolph Ro-Hawks. We have also been chosen by News 4 as the Game of the Week! In honor of both of these events we would like to invite Parents, students, and Alumni to participate in a Tailgate from 4:30-6:30. Bring your food and football gear and set up in the parking lot by the Cole Stadium. We will have music and the Kiolbassa Sausage company providing sausage wraps. Our senior night program will start at 6:45, the game is at 7:30, and both Middle and High School bands will be performing with the Randolph band for Halftime. Come out and show your Cougar Spirit!!

Announcing the new 196.2 Cole Cougar Podcast!

Cole Tech Interns have been hard at work creating the first episode of the new "196.2 Podcast", a student-driven podcast highlighting great things happening at Cole and in the district. Episode One takes listeners on a walk through the decades as they examine how the school experience has changed over the past 50 years. The name "196.2" comes from the year Cole was established, 1962, and is a play on radio station call numbers. You can hear episode one by clicking the headline above. The 196.2 Podcast is also available on Spotify and will soon be available on all major podcast platforms.

Impact Aid Survey Form

Fort Sam Houston ISD is requesting our parents' cooperation in completing the annual Impact Aid Survey Form. A letter explaining the reason for the survey and the survey form have been sent home with the students. The form is asking for information as of November 6, 2019. Please complete, sign, and return the form to your child's campus by Friday, November 22. A separate form is needed for each student. Your cooperation with this necessary form is greatly appreciated!
