Culinary Arts Students Garner Awards!

The 8th Annual Cupcake Battle was recently  hosted by the University of Houston, San Antonio. The students traveled downtown on Friday October 27th to turn in their cupcakes and have a chance to scope out the other competitors. Four Cole students - Seniors Brielle Cooper, Charlyann Silva, and Eldred Brinson and Sophomore Maya Pike - took part in the cupcake competition. The day included lunch at Smoke, a tour of the Westin hotel, and an awards ceremony. The cupcakes the Cole students prepared included Caramel Corn Cupcakes, Italian Cream Cupcakes, Peach Cobbler Cupcakes, and Mocha Coffee Cupcakes.

Cole Theatre Department Presents "These Shining Lives"

The Cole Theatre Department will present "These Shining Lives" on December 8th and 9th at 6:00 p.m. on the Moseley Gym Stage. The show is based on the true story of four women who worked in a watch factory in Ottawa, Illinois. It dramatizes the danger women faced in the workforce in the 1920s, and the lack of concern by companies for protecting the health of its employees. Tickets are $7.00 for a chicken dinner and the show and $2.00 for the show only. If you would like dinner, please email Ms. Ratliff at [email protected].

District Seeking Board of Trustees Member

The Fort Sam Houston Independent School District is soliciting for nominees to be considered for one opening on the Board of Trustees. The position must be filled by either a military member or civilian living on or employed on Joint Base San Antonio - Fort Sam Houston. To qualify for the board, an individual must be:
- 18 years of age or older
- a U.S. citizen
- a Qualified voter
- without any felony convictions

Trustees take an official oath of office and serve without compensation. Interested applicants must submit a resume no later than 5:00 p.m., November 30, 2017 to the School Liaison Officer at Building 2263 Stanley Road, Basement, Room 107B.
