Classroom Rules, Responsibilities & Policies
4 CLASSROOM RULES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- BE here! You need to be in the classroom when the bell rings or you will be counted tardy. If you are more than 10 minutes late to class you'll be counted absent.
- BE responsible! Be on time and come prepared. Bring all needed supplies & materials to class and know your school Google account login and password. Comply with district, campus and classroom policies and expectations, and come to class ready to work.
- BE respectful! Be kind, polite and respectful to each other, to the teacher, and to guests.
- BE awesome! Encourage, help and support each other. Be brave and take risks! Make the most of your time in class.
4 GENERAL CLASSROOM POLICIES:
1.) Entering/Exiting Classroom: Students are to WALK into the classroom calmly and quietly. There is expensive equipment in the computer lab that can be (and has been in the past) damaged by carelessness. Students should sanitize their hands, and may wipe down their desk, before sitting at and touching the computer equipment. At the end of class, students should REMAIN SEATED until I have released the class.
2.) Backpacks/Bags: Upon entering the classroom, all student backpacks and bags are to be placed in the cubbies under the whiteboard at the front of the classroom. Bags are NOT allowed under the computer desks/tables, on the floor, by the teacher's desk, nor in the aisles.
3.) Movement: Unless instructed otherwise, students should remain seated at their desk. Rolling around in chairs is NOT allowed. Students are NOT allowed to leave class during instruction. One student at a time may go to the bathroom during non-instruction time. All students must sign in/out on the form hanging on the green clipboard by the door. At the end of class students should log off their accounts on the student computers then sit and wait for class to be released. Be mindful of others' personal space when entering and exiting the room!
4.) Food & Beverages are NOT allowed in the computer lab unless instructed otherwise.
4 TECHNOLOGY POLICIES:
1.) Electronic Devices: As per Texas House Bill 1481 and FSHISD district policy, cell phones, personal electronic devices, headphones and ear buds are not allowed in the classroom or anywhere on campus. They must be put away in backpacks or personal bags and out of sight at all times throughout the school day.
2.) Computer Games: Computer games are NOT allowed in class unless specified otherwise by the teacher.
3.) Software: Students are NOT allowed to download software or change settings on the student computers.
4.) Hardware: Students are NOT allowed to disconnect/reconnect computer hardware such as the keyboard, mouse and monitor without teacher permission and supervision. Students are NOT allowed to tamper with keyboard keys or mouse buttons.
