CLASS EXPECTATIONS*

WHEN YOU ENTER SS CLASS:

*Be Respectful: No rude gestures, cruel teasing, or disrespect or inappropriate comments will be tolerated. Show respect and follow directions/CHAMPS at all times.

*Be On time. Enter the room quickly and quietly.

*Be Accountable: Be in your seat and ready to work when class begins.  Have all supplies each day. Write the daily lesson/objective and start on the SS Warmup. Cell is turned off and stowed away. Gum/food/drinks are not allowed in class.

*Be Prepared: Have SS Textbook, ISN, agenda, homework folder, novel, and supplies.

*Be Safe:  Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. Walk in the room single file.

 

DURING SS CLASS:

*Be Respectful: Of CHAMPS, yourself, and others. Always listen to directives. Listen when the teacher/others are speaking.

*Be On-time: Follow CHAMPS.

*Be Accountable: Have materials and know voice Levels.

*Be Prepared: Ready to learn and follow CHAMPS.

*Be Safe: Follow CHAMPS for the different SS activities.

 

TWO MINUTE END OF SS CLASS:

*Be Respectful: Do not pack up during teacher instruction! Wait for the teacher to dismiss you.

*Be On-time: Be aware of the bell. Leave the class quickly.

*Be Accountable: Put working papers where they belong; bin, homework folder, ISN pocket etc. Check around your desk for trash.

All supplies in your backpack.

*Be Prepared: Know your schedule and where to go.

*Be Safe: Walk around the room and out the doorway single file. Keep hands, feet, & objects to yourself.

 

AGENDA

*Bring to class every day.

*Lessons/Objectives should be written under the Social Studies block every day.

 

HOMEWORK/ASSIGNMENTS

*Homework will be assigned daily as needed.

*Assignments will be listed under the SS block on the agenda for that specific day.

*Homework is to be handed in at the beginning of class, in the return papers bin.  

*All assignment documents must have the student’s name, period, assignment TITLE, and date at the top. ie.

Chanda Burch P1 Vocabulary Chapter 1 Lesson 3 8/25/20

*Homework turned in after class begins is considered late.

*Missing homework or assignments are recorded as past due and/or late. You will receive a zero for missing work. Failure to turn in homework has consequences, such as ECO.

*Assignments that are missed due to absence are still graded and it is the responsibility of the student to find out what is due when they return to school.

 

SUPPLIES

*Each student is required to have all supplies for class.

*Pencils, colored pencils, glue sticks, scissors, textbooks (World Cultures & Geography), and the SS ISN  are required each day.

*Borrowing supplies from other students is not acceptable because it is distracting and not responsible.

 

GRADES/REPORT CARDS

*Interactive Notebook, Class/Daily work & Projects, Test/ Quizzes, and Participation & Homework utilizing the points system

*Quizzes, projects, other daily assignments, and test which have a circled numerical grade will be recorded in the grade book.  *Additional grades, such as class participation and oral reports may also be recorded.  Progress reports and report cards will reflect these additional grades. Homework and class participation will count as a grade and/or maybe graded as an assignment.

*All other work is considered practice work and will not be recorded for a grade.

 

CLASS DISCUSSION

*We respect all opinions. We respect ourselves and others.

*Students are encouraged to participate in discussions.  Often there are no right or wrong answers, just ideas, and opinions.  Each student is respected and will respect others.  It is important for each student to push himself or herself to be a part of the class discussion.  Students learn more when they are actively engaged and this is part of their class participation grade.

* No laughing, teasing, or insults will be allowed during discussions.
